On Saturday, a bunch of fine folk got together to celebrate the births of the Aquarius kids in the group. The plan was the meet at Shige's for some sushi and some karaoke but due to a mis- communication, we ended up at Mulligans, a total dive bar down the street from the Grove in downtown Boise. There was a nice-sized group, about 15 of us hanging out, playing pool like Sam and Tiff, trying to avoid being schooled by James at fooseball, drinking, chatting, laughing and making new friends.

Around 5:00, we all tramped over to the Red Feather. Because we were so special, we got the room downstairs. We had to go down a spiral staircase which reminded me of pretty much all Pizza Expresses in England (except in Ox). It was private, intimate and we spread ourselves out around the various tables. I had the best table buddies and the food was delicious (even though it took forever to decide what we wanted). The best part was the delicious, dark cider that they had. Oh my gosh, so yummy! There was a lot of laughing going on and some exploring into the wine cellar with the hundreds of bottles of delicious wine.

Our next stop was Opa, since Tiff had some coupons so we curled up on the couches upstairs and relaxed. A LOT Of Red Bull and vodkas were consumed (not by me... ew....) and we had a guest appearance by the wonderful Miss Alexis Kenyon (although the appearance was slightly marred by the news that her dog had passed away that morning). A few people went over to smoke hooka (which reminded me so much of Israel) and the rest of us just chatted and laughed.
Then it was off for the real fun of the night- sushi and karaoke. Shige's was still serving dinner when we arrived so while the boys were getting their hands stamped at Hannah's before there was a cover charge for them, the girls headed over to the Shige's and played catch (a very dangerous game of catch, might I add) with Frances' lighted rubber ball. Finally they let us in and it turned into a dance party/singing party. We sang everything from Red Hot Chili Peppers, Disney tunes, Robbie Williams, the obligatory Sweet Home Alabama (Jake was rockin' out to that one), some Wham and many other fine tunes. The saddest part was when a guy not a part of our group came out to sing "Minnie the Moocher". Now I love that song but he honestly cleared the room. Nobody else knew it so nobody sang along with him. Sad times! The bartender/waiter/MC sang a few song and that was a little weird. We literally took over the place, were given free sushi, drinks and just had a blast. Man, I love karaoke!
