I loved Moulin Rouge when I was younger- I watched it so much in high school. And this part is definitely my favorite. I love this version of the Can-Can, also known as Spectacular, Spectacular.
If you haven't seen Peter's Friends, you must watch it immediately. It stars Hugh Laurie, Stephen Fry, Emma Thompson, Imelda Stauton, Tony Slatterly and Kenneth Branaugh, among others. It's like a Cambridge Footlight's Reunion! The story is so sad and happy at the same time and these actors all interact so well together. This part and when they sing later in the movie are my favorite parts.
