Flashback Friday- New York City edition

So I'm going to start a new series called Flashback Friday. There are so many fun pictures and stories I have from trips I've taken in the past that didn't have a chance to e featured on this blog because this blog didn't exist at that time. Today's edition is the NYC edition.

Andie was my travel buddy and roommate- we sat together on planes, trains, buses and automobiles.

Our first night included an excursion to the top of the Empire State buildling at night and a jaunt down the street from our hotel next to Grand Central Station to Times Square.

Chamber Choir was out in New York to sing at Carnegie Hall and we had plenty of time outside of rehearsals to go explore the city. On our first full day, Jake and I went to, naturally, the Met.

No trip to the city is complete without a walk through Central Park. Our walk took us over to Lincoln Centre where I got to pop into the State Theatre and take a look at the pictures of all the current NYCB dancers.

That night, Jake, Marc, Dave and I went to go see Spamalot. It was hysterical.

The next day, DANIELLE showed up! We hadn't seen each other in a good ten (!) years and we had a joyous reunion... then went to go see Rent on Broadway.

After the show, she went back to the room to get some sleep while I hit the town with Jake, Morgan and James. We may have gone to a few bars, we may have had a bit to drink, we may have gotten a little cray-cray, but I admit to nothing!

The next morning, Danielle and I spent most of the day at the Museum of Natural History (after getting me a smoothie to perk myself up... hadn't gotten much sleep the night before...)

She came with me to my performance at Carnegie Hall, as did Grandma, Steven, Uncle Paul and Aunt Judy. Thanks for the love, family!

That night, along with the rest of the singers in the joint choir, we took a boat tour around the harbour, seeing the lights of the city, the Statue of Liberty and of course, getting a little silly.

Titanic!

The next morning, after dropping Danielle off at the bus stop, I went down to Ground Zero and wandered around there for a while. It was quite emotional, seeing that at this time, it was only five years after the fact.

Great way to end this post because I LOVE New York!
