I have some very specific tastes in Christmas music. Here are some of my favorite non-carols. Christmas carols have a whole separate place in my heart.
Jars of Clay- I Heard the Bells
You know my relationship with Jars and I love their entire Christmas CD but there is just something about this song that I love. I really like what they did with starting off softly, building up the volume and intensity and then ending softly again.
***And I'm sorry for the super awkward video.... it was literally the only video that I could find. Feel free to listen with your eyes closed.***
Relient K- Merry Christmas, Here's To Many More
This song makes me sad and happy at the same time. I love it so much.
Charlotte Church and Billy Gilman- Sleigh Ride
I HATE Sleigh Ride. With a major passion. But I love this version of it for some reason.
N*Sync- O Holy Night (yes, I know it's a carol, bite me)
There are many versions of this song, which is one of my favorites. But I love how they do this one acapella.
Rockapella- Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
There is only one group that can do this song justice and it is Rockapella.
Dustin Kensrue- Baby Please Come Home
I love how his raspy voice sings this song.
City On A Hill- It's Christmas Time
I love when Christian artists collaborate. Can you pick up Dan Haseltine, Mac Powell, and the Caedmon's Call folk? I can :)
Jack Johnson- Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer
The only version to mention the fact that Rudolph deserves an apology for the mistreatment by the other reindeers.
Lady Antebellum- Baby It's Cold Outside
When you have a group with men and women, you might as well sing this song...
Sufjan Stevens- It's Christmas Let's Be Glad
I love how this song is just so simple- and his voice is so unique.
Louis Armstrong- 'Zat You, Santa Claus
Talk about a unique voice!
Sarah Brightman- I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday
This song is just like a party!
James Taylor- In the Bleak Midwinter
His whole Christmas album is the best, but this one if one of my favorites. I just adore his voice so much.
