A thousand words

It's said that a picture is worth a thousand words so if that's the case, I just I'll just have to write a lot about today. It was a lovely day but I have no pictures for it and you know what, that's OK!

It started out early this morning- it was a little chilly but I headed over to Jolt's and Juice to have coffee with Lindsey. I had seen her briefly at my birthday but we hadn't chatted in a long time so we curled up on either side of the big comfy couch and caught up. She's deciding about grad school next me, I'm going to grad school next year, we both love traveling, so it was easy to find things to chat about. Becky joined us, looking a little sleepy but she joined in the conversation for a bit. When Lindsey had to head off for her run with Liz, Becky and I headed back to my house to pick up a few things and then head to the Capital City Market.

Oh Market, I've missed you this winter! The market was bustling, as usual, but slightly more-so than usual since it was only the second week. The stalls were open for business with a lot of free samples (more than in the fall!) and we got to try and bunch of yummy delights. There was also a Toyota/Earth Day thing going on where if you went to three booths and sampled the fare created by local chefs, you could get a free herb. I got a cinnamon basil. If anyone knows what cinnamon basil is and what the heck you do with it, let me know. We ran into a few people we knew, chatted about books in Rediscovered Books and soaked up the market atmosphere.

From there we headed up to Camel's Back park and hiked up to Camel's Back. The trails are numerous but not marked greatly so we ended up just wandering up and down the hills and eventually were on a dirt road by United Water. We think it may have been the 8th street extension but we're not sure. ANyway, we meandered and hiked and wandered and of course gabbed the entire time before heading back over Camel's Back and to the car.

We made a pit stop at Win-Co since I needed cottage cheese, eggs (for matziyah, duh), cream cheese (for regular matzah, duh) and there was a cheap deal on strawberries. Becky was being a total brat. Good thing I like her. From there we headed over to Michael and Tammi's so I could drop off a paper I had proofed for Tammi. We of course chatted a bit but didn't stay long because Tammi was sick and none of us wanted to catch it but she's in for hiking and the market and the art museum next weekend which will be great.

The ride home was awesome. Basically we just belted out songs, no matter who was watching/listening. Greatest hits included: "Need You Now" by Lady Antebellum, "Wagon Wheel" by Old Crow Medicine Show, "Jolly Holiday with Mary" by Mary Poppins, "It's Coming Back to Me Now" by Celine, "Don't Stop Believing" and "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" by Glee. We arrived back at the house singing "Bohemian Rhapsody" and kept going even after I turned off the car. We had a total blast and I can't wait to hang out with her again.

Because the day was GORGEOUS (!!!!) I spent the rest of the afternoon on the infamous dinosaur blanket reading, listening to music, tanning (I worse sunscreen, Mom, don't worry) and relaxing. Now it's off to try and watch the rest of Supernatural and get some sleep since I was up past midnight last night watching The Usual Suspects (GOOD movie, btw). Happy Easter tomorrow!

(by the way, the above was 641 words so imagine there was 60% of a picture and you're good to go...)
