Thirteen what!?

Yes, yes, if you can believe it, I ran a half marathon. I'll wait a moment while you all pick your jaws up from the floor.

This is me, finishing my 13.1 miles. In under three hours. OK, just BARELY under three hours but still under three!

It was insane, yo. Lots of ups and downs, not really knowing where the next mile marker was, but beautiful views of the Lake and of the countryside surrounding it. And some smelly cows. But they worked like smelling salt revived a passed out person.

I probably ran about 90% of it. Towards the end, my leg started to hurt where it has been lately and so I walked a little more on some of the uphills but I ran the entire first leg (almost 7 miles) without stopping except for maybe thirty seconds at the very top of the hill. Who knew that was even physically possible!? I didn't.

A BIG thank you to the History Extra podcasts. Over the three hours I listened to questions about the Crusades, Foxe's Book of Martyrs, Country Houses outside Exeter, life in Elizabethan times, the impact of the British empire, tea in the American Revolution, Britain's toughest military opponents and more. So grateful for the fascinating topics that kept me distracted from dying.

So in conclusion. I ran a half marathon. The end.
