I Can Do This... and I Love It...

I don't think most people will argue with me when I saw that most movies are made that much more special by their beautiful music. Everyone knows the theme to Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Pirates of the Caribbean, Schindler's List, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, just to name a few. I was thinking about this during the concert a few nights ago. I love that I can do that. I love that I can make people enjoy movies even more because of the music. No, I'm not the one who is specifically playing for the soundtrack but the essence of the idea is the same. I am of the firm believe that music makes the movie. That's why I think that tone pieces are so incredible- they tell stories without visual images. They tell stories with the melodies, harmonies, rhythms, syncopations, dynamics, etc. These men and women who compose these pieces are so talented and so integral to the enjoyment of movies.

I love that I can be a part of the community that adds a huge and important element to movies. Here are some of my favorite from some of my favorite cinematic composers.
