AXP Week 1

Week 1 of AXP successful! It was a great week- not as crazy as I had expected. First of all, some firsts....

-NO night meds, three morning meds and one dinner meds. Easiest med bag week ever! And no puking!

-cloudiest/coldest day in Laguna Beach history. I looked like an idiot after harping on the kids to drink all that water. It didn't keep them hydrated in the sun... it just made them pee a lot :)

-breaks for staff during workshops.... which four of us (Amy-Louise, Lisa, Alison and I) took back-to=back. We went on a "walk", which took us straight to Starbucks and we had great conversation, which may or may not have included a discussion about 70s porn stars shot from mid-boob and higher.

-way too many men in gold and sexual innuendos that went over the kids head. Still hilarious.
-a theft!!!! MJ was stolen.... the theory was that Garret stole Jack's creepy Michael Jackson bag, Leslie was taking all the blame for it and that I was doing all the work with the ransom notes and cutting up the GQ for letters and posting pictures all over the campus. Clearly they didn't know me well enough since I'm rather sleep than write ransom notes (unless it was to the boys on V3).

-the WORST jokes in the program for the PSO concert. "Do you have broad shoulders, a thin waist and have straight posture like a dancer? Then you might like to wear a bolero jacket!" Oh gosh, they were awful!
-incredibly amazing talent show acts- including six boys singing with no words and no back up music to Jason Mraz's "I'm Yours". In harmony. Epic.

-Amy Louise: "Why can't I hear them? Are they mute? What's going on?" This was in response to a sketch called "Waiting Room" where two girls starting fighting over Bryan and then they just started mouthing their words...

All in all, such a great week. I loved 1776 (I need to get the DVD and soundtrack!), the PSO performance was bizarre and certainly a one-time deal (when else do you see real life Oscar statues stand on each others heads?). Loved getting to know the kids and the fellow staff and I can't wait for next week!
